It’s my Friday bitches! I know, you’re all jealous. I’m off Monday too. Now you’re really jealous! Okay, probably not, but I’m still pretty stoked about it.
I’ve been busy again. Now I’m working on a website for Chasing Amy. Did I mention that yesterday? Probably not. Anyway, here’s a link to the test site. Mind you, it’s two days in production and most of the buttons on the left hand side don’t work yet, but keep checking back. They will!
Chasing Amy Temporary Website Here!!! Boss is back in today after a week and a half long vacation in the Caribbean - Can Cun. Bastard. I hate him, I really do. Okay, I don’t hate him. I’m just a jealous wench abou tit. Which means there will be a lot of work to do today. Which means I better quit typing and get to it!
Things have just been insanely crazy lately. Busy busy busy. I don’t mind being busy – actually I LOVE being busy. Makes time go by faster. But, then again, at my rapidly deteriorating age that’s probably not such a good thing. Ah, well, gotta take what you can get, right?
And things are about to get even crazier! Some things I can’t mention yet, some things I can.
The one thing I can mention is this weekend. It’ll be even more insane than last. And last weekend – well, I’m still trying to recover from that one. This weekend we have Chasing Amy on Friday night at the California Coal House in Antioch. Saturday morning I have to take the dreaded three and a half hour drive to my dad’s to pick up my sister, then go to Fecs in Kenosha on Saturday night for a Chasing Amy show. Then Sunday my other sister is coming over from Rockford and we’re going to hang out. Then Monday I have to take my sister to the airport. The best part of it all? I’m off Friday and Monday!

I woke up this morning and decided I just didn't want to get up yet. I never do this but it's a great excuse to get a couple extra hours since there's a two hour gap between trains. That (and I'll spare you the gross details) and I wanted to....well, you know...nevermind!

Good Morning Blog Readers!! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I survived my birthday dinner last night. Dennis did an awesome job on the roast! And he was so sweet to me all day and all night. I say that because if there ever was a time that he had the opportunity to get rid of me – that was it! You know, the poison the roast with the hemlock – that old chestnut? He must like me since I’m still alive this morning!
It was a nice birthday. Nothing out of the ordinary, which is nice. Having a birthday on a Monday really sucks though, I’ll say that! But, you do get the birthday treatment all weekend, which doesn’t suck. So, I guess it’s not a bad day for a Birthday!
And I’m not wearing a stitch of green today. Sorry, I’m not Irish. I will never be Irish. I don’t own green clothing of any kind. So that’s that. I do have to laugh at all the obviously non-Irish people on the train wearing everything from green shamrocked ties to the horribly gone wrong Christmas-style Saint Patrick’s day sweatshirts. It’s insane.
So, I guess we’re probably going to go out and have some corned beef and cabbage tonight. Well, my German husband probably will but I don’t eat that shit.
I’m so happy it’s the end of the week. My only other wish is that it would actually be a warm one. But, alas, it isn’t.
And I’m going to be old on Monday. Well, older I should say. And I’m thinking I really don’t want to add another year. I know it’s all a number, right? But why does it have to be such a really big, ugly, nasty number? And why does it have to be on a Monday? The very worst day of the week? And it's not like I can take it off considering both me and my co-worker share the same birthday and it wouldn't be fair, yada, whatthefuckever.
And for all you locals yahoos Dennis is playing with Chasing Amy tonight at the Limmerick in Antioch. And then he’s off Saturday, thank God. I really didn’t want a two show weekend since the next three weekends are two show weekends.
And I get to take the early train today! So, that’s it. That’s all I have to say today. I’m sitting here thinking, hmmmm, what kind of bullshit can I spew this morning? And I got nothing. So, this is what you get!
It’s a fact. I had my head totally up my ass this morning.
I’m blaming it on the time change. Yep, that’s it. The time change.
Seriously, I totally spazed out this morning. I get on the train, like every other day, right? The conductor is coming up the aisle and he’s asking this girl if she was the one beating on the doors as the doors were closing. She says no and he moves on (they don’t have a sense of humor about that shit). Anyway, he comes up to me and I say, no, it wasn’t me either (it’s the same conductor every morning – he knows me) and he laughs and just stands there.
I’m like – what? He just looks at me like, what the hell do you think lady? Oh, duh, he wants to see my train pass. Hey, I told you I was a complete moron this morning! So, I show him my pass and he goes about his business. Now, I’m freaking out because I notice I can’t find my glasses. I know I just had ‘em in my hand. Where the hell could they have gone? So, I’m looking in my purse, in my glass case, in the pockets of my laptop bag – nothing. Nada. Zip. No Glasses. I’m standing up to make sure they are sitting on my lap. Nope. Now I’m thinking, fuck, this is going to be a really interesting day not being able to fucking SEE at work all day.
Then I look over at the window on the train. Now, remember, it’s totally pitch black outside. The sun hasn’t even started to rise. I TOLD you it’s the time change earlier! Anyway, I catch my reflection in the glass.
Now, come on, you have to know where this shit is going? Yes, they were stuffed up my ass. Okay, not really. They were on my fucking face. Yes, that’s right. My first clue should have been that, while searching high and low for my glasses, I can actually SEE what I’m looking at inside my purse? What the fuck?
Ah, well, I also blame it on the blonde hair dye soaking in from last week. Pictures from last Saturday:
Thank God it’s Friday!! And what a gloriously beautiful Friday it is!
I’m wearing shoes! Not boots. No gloves, no scarf, no heavy coat. Just a pair of jeans, a purple short sleeved long cardigan sweater with a black cami under it, black peep toed shoes (despite the fact I really wish I could have gotten a pedi before shoe season) and a nylon-ish black trench rain coat. I felt so much lighter this morning without all the sub-zero winter garb.
I know it's not going to stay, but what a pre-view to spring! And this weekend is daylight savings time so the days are definitely getting longer. So, I would say that even though it's not "officially" spring yet, I'm saying, in my word, it's fucking spring, got it?
Wednesday we got the CD!! Yes we have it! And it turned out awesome! Remember, Saturday is the Six Foot Model CD release party!
Three more days until the weekend, including today. Thank God! I’m ready for this one to be over – but nothing new about that.
The CD’s arrived late yesterday but we haven’t seen them yet. Dennis has rehearsals tonight so he’ll bring some home after. Can’t wait to see it!
My poor fingers have been taking a beating lately. I’ve been playing my bass again. I haven’t played in a long time and thought – why not? I used to love it, but then kind of got out of it, then was afraid to pick it up again. You know, like, I wouldn’t be able to play again. But it wasn’t that bad. A lot of things came flying back at me that I only thought I forgot. But, how can you think you forgot something if you forgot it in the first place? Nevermind. Let’s just say that I did okay. But, my fingers have gotten too soft for those big ole bass strings.
That’s about it for me. The boss is off this week so I’ve been doing a lot of catch up work. So, hopefully, I’ll be all caught up next week when he gets back!
I need to calm my head down for a minute or two before jumping in on all this work I have to do today.
If there’s been one really huge bonus to lightening my discussion forum usage over the past few months, it’s been that I’m getting a hell of a lot more work done. I’m sure my boss loves the increased productivity! There have been many more benefits to lightening the forum posting, such as I don’t have to deal with the assholes that still haven’t grown up yet and insist upon leaving me rude messages here, on my blog – not to mention that they do it anonymously because they don’t have the balls to sign it as themselves. It’s been so nice to not have to sit around and witness drama queens spreading their negativity. Of course, I’m sure by the end of the day I’ll get more anonymous messages. Assholes.
Anyway, I survived the weekend of staying up way too late on Friday (3:30 am) and Saturday (4:00 am). I just can’t do it anymore! Saturday wasn’t bad, considering I could sleep in and catch a nap before going back out. I was pretty much wrecked yesterday though. I did some housework in the morning, then ripped the video I took of the show into my computer (first set), edited it, and slapped it on a DVD, which we immediately watched soon after. One of these days I’ll take a clip and slap it on here. If I have the time to figure out how to do it. I mean, how hard can it be?
So, there you have it. I hope everybody out in blog land had a nice weekend and isn’t nursing too serious wounds this morning.
Oh, Saturday night, Six Foot Model CD release party at Penny Road Pub in Barrington. They go on early, do all the songs from the CD, and get done. None of this three set bullshit. Then spend the rest of the time listening to some tribute band and, hopefully, selling CD’s!
