I've been dreaming about this day all week. Not only is it a Friday, it's a payday! And, I'll either be happy or disappointed once I receive my check at the amount. But, I'm not even going to go there today because, frankly, nobody wants to hear about it.
I just hope when I go to work tonight that I'm not blocked out by fire trucks and police cars. And that the owner actually remembers that I'm supposed to work!
Seriously, it got way out of hand on the newbie board yesterday. Seeing as how I work for an insurance company, I know exactly what you were talking about and how you are feeling about it. Since your boss always backs out of giving you what you deserve, you should see if there is any way he could just give you 'bonus' checks every month for the work you have done. That way maybe you wont be so disappointed at the end of the year when he never does what he says he is going to. I dont know, just a suggestion.
thanks!! I do understand, tho, what everybody was saying about it. I mean, yea, I've been complaining about this since last year!! It's either piss or get off the pot.
The only thing that aggravated me about the conversation yesterday was that people kept saying, "You should be lucky you get a christmas bonus at all". I kept saying - it's NOT a christmas bonus! This has nothing to do with it being out of the kindness of my boss' heart.
It's okay, tho. Because i get where everybody was coming from and I only have myself to blame for still being here!
But thanks for your understanding. That means a lot to me.
I just got done reading the thread from yesterday. I totally get where you're coming from. It sounds like profits are not truly down with the company from the way it sounds, but yet your boss claims he can't afford it. The whole thing does sound really shady with him and I agree with the others about looking around for something else. You've worked your butt off over there and truly deserve the commission for all the sales/customers you've brought in for him.
Unfortunately, that is not as easy as it sounds. Especially since your income is the most reliable between you and Dennis so you have to be very careful about any job you take after this. It's a tough spot to be in. I wish you all the best this coming year and hope you find something you are happy with.
Feel free to vent your frustrations whenever you want to, especially on this blog. You are a personal friend of mine and I'm always interested in hearing about what goes on in your life. Some may not want to hear it, but I do. If talking about it makes you feel better, more power to you!
